Charles Segal


Charles You don't become a world renowned pianist and composer overnight. Charles Segal has been practicing the art of piano for over half a century. Loved the world over, award winning and multi talented Charles Segal has received many honors and awards, including South African Grammys.

A master pianist and composer, Charles Segal blends feeling with the perfect combination of notes to stir the soul and ease the spirit; or ignite, delight and stimulate the mind. Whether it's his award winning children's music and musicals, romantic melodies, upbeat jazz or relaxing tunes, Charles has a unique and intuitive talent that moves his listeners

He is a talented, classically trained, accomplished jazz and commercial pianist and composer. Born in Lithuania, he was raised in South Africa, where he became a celebrity pianist and a prolific composer of over 1,000 songs, including award-winning songs and many now traditional South African songs. Charles is the featured performer on over 200 albums.

He is a founding member of the South Africa Music Rights Organization as a composer and a publisher. He was also a regular performer on the SABC networks. Charles Segal Music School was the largest one of its kind in South Africa and Segal's Publications published many popular Music Tutor Books. Charles emigrated to the USA in 1986, where he has continued to be prolific in composing and recording. He is a member of BMI.

Colleen Segal


COLLEEN SEGAL is the director of Centre Stage Theatre. She was born in South Africa. Colleen has a matriculation certificate in music and a degree and a teacher's diploma in English and Drama from the University of Cape Town. She has been a professional actress and a singer and keyboardist in a popular national touring pop group, "The In-Set".

Colleen writes and produces original Musical Theatre shows that are popular in schools and camps worldwide. Her Children's stories and albums were broadcast regularly on the SABC. She also trains people in communication and presentation skills, and has written speech tutor books. Colleen now resides in the USA and is a member of BMI and the Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators.
